Historic 1872 Fachwerk Construction

Built in 1872 by early settler Heinrich Voelcker, the cottage reflects the German heritage that shaped New Braunfels. Inside, portions of the original fachwerk (half-timber construction) remain visible. This traditional German building method used a mortise and tenon timber system with clay and brick filling the spaces between beams. In some areas, the original timber numbering marks can still be seen.
