Flying In? Uber Here, Then Walk Everywhere
- San Antonio International (SAT)
- About 40 min, 28 mi via I-35 S
- Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS)
- About 55 min, 50 to 55 mi via I-35 N
Plenty of our guests fly in, take an Uber here and never need a car. Drivers pull up on Comal Ave right in front of the property, and with self check-in a late flight is no problem. Here's how a lot of work trips go:
- Walk to the courthouse (10 minutes) or the Civic & Convention Center (4 minutes) in the morning. Headed to court? New Braunfels Coffee is right across the street.
- After a long day, change and float the spring-fed Comal River. Take the public staircase down to the river at the Garden St and Lincoln St bridge and float a little over an hour to the Last Tubers Exit.
- Order dinner on Uber Eats and eat it on your private patio.

Floating is a warm-weather plan. No car? Have H-E-B or another local store deliver a tube to your door with your groceries. Texas Tubes, an 8-minute walk away, also rents tubes, but rentals are seasonal and hours vary, so check before you head out after work.
What will the ride cost? As of October 2026, Uber listed average UberX fares to New Braunfels of about $53 from SAT and about $94 from AUS. If you don't mind a longer wait for a driver, Wait & Save averaged about $39 from SAT and $66 from AUS.
Drive times from Google Maps. Fares are Uber's posted averages, not quotes or guaranteed prices. They change with time of day, demand and traffic, so check the Uber app for a current price before you book your flight. Comal Inn isn't affiliated with Uber. I-35 can be slow at rush hour, so allow extra time for a flight. From Austin, the TX-45 toll road is a few minutes faster.
